*The first WOD was pretty brutal. The squat clean and jerks really beat me down and I broke up the KB swings more than I wanted to. The OHS were done in sets of 5. I am still not great at OHS so breaking them up in fives helped me manage the work. For some reasons the pull-ups at the end of this workout were a huge problem, I could not string more than 5 or 6 together. I lost a lot of time here cause I just couldn’t stay on the bar.
The second workout consisted of 3 individual tests, exactly 10 minutes after completion of the first WOD. The HSPUs on the paralletes were challenging because you had to touch your head on two 45 lb plates stacked inbetween the parallettes. This meant lowering your head below the height of your hands (long ROM). I think I got 4 because my feet came off the wall as I got to full extension. The muscle ups were tricky because my hands were sweaty and I couldn’t keep a false grip at all. Next up was the 500m row, 1:35 was the target. I hovered between 1:34 and 1:38 for the first 350-400. With about 120-130 m remaining I started pulling with everything I had. After that 500m I unstrapped and fell off the rower. I was in a considerable amount of discomfort for a good 10 minutes after.
Finished 2nd and made the P3 affiliate team. We will be competing in Dallas at the South Central Regional, May 29th and 30th. I am so glad to be competing after missing the sectionals. Can’t wait!
